Ann works part-time for Lawrence Education Center as an instructor of G.E.D. and A.B.E (Adult Basic Education) students at the Headstart building on E. Lawrence. This is her first year working with adults; she has been working as a substitute teacher for the past 5 years, mostly in kindergarten and first grade.
She sings alto with the IS Chorus. Her favorite Wednesday night activity is watching West Wing ( it even has to be taped in case of any interruptions). Her husband is often away, refereeing basketball games, and so the tapes come in handy for him, also. The family has two dogs: Pepper, a Cairn Terrier (like Toto) and a Peek-a-poo named Ginger. There are also two rabbits in the family. They are looking for a new homeis anyone interested?!? (They are free, and even litter-trained)
Otherwise, she enjoys reading, traveling (quite a bit in Wisconsin, her home state), feeding and watching the backyard birds, light gardening, and cross stitch. She belongs to two book groups, P.E.O., and the American Association of University Women. Time is also spent chauffeuring her 13 and 16 year old daughters to their various activities. Daily email with friends and family is another regular activity.
Ann's first year with the ISC was in 1999 and she has accumulated a total of two singing years. She has sung previously in the Oswego High School choir and madrigals, 4th Street United Methodist church choir in Aurora, and the choir at the Unitarian-Universalist church in Urbana.
