Jim Noyce
supervises the drinking water section of the Division of Radiochemistry in the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety.  His Department analyzes nearly all of the public drinking water supplies in the state for radionuclides.  He is a radiochemist with about 35 years of experience in government (state and Federal), industry, consulting, and a little bit of teaching.

During his evening hours Jim sings tenor in the IS Chorus and enjoys listening to and practicing music.  He spends quality time with his wife Beverly of 32 years.  In addition, he spends time at the computer, enjoys reading, and helps keep the house and yard going.

Other activities he enjoys include volunteering at the Lincoln Memorial Garden, traveling and taking photographs, singing in the choir at Christ Church Episcopal, and sleeping late on Saturdays.

Jim's first year with the chorus was in the Fall season of 1996, and has sung a total of 4.5 years with them.

His most positive memorable experience with the ISC was singing in Mahler's Resurrection Symphony.  "Helping to make such beautiful music was such a high that I had to fight back tears so I could see the music score!"  He also indicated, "Perhaps my worst experience with the chorus was to make ALL that effort to learn Ravel's L'enfant et les Sortileges ... and then not be able to sing it."

His message to other choral members is, "Marion and Dan is thank you for collectively providing me with inexpensive, effective and fun therapy.  I hope that I'm helping to do the same for you!"
